Packaging Technician - 1st Shift

Location: Boonton, NJ
Schedule & Pay:

• 1st Shift: M–F, 6AM-3:30PM, $17/hr

• 2nd Shift: M–F, 3PM-11:30PM, $18.50/hr

Position Summary

The Packaging Technician supports daily cannabis processing and packaging operations to ensure production schedules are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. This role follows established SOPs, maintains quality standards, records production data, and assists with daily operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily packaging schedules to meet production and quality goals.

• Operate, inspect, and calibrate automated and manual equipment including filling machines and scales.

• Ensure packaging and labeling meet all regulatory and company standards.

• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.

• Accurately record production data and maintain required documentation.

• Assist with inventory counts for packaging materials, finished goods, and supplies.

• Transport finished product to secure inventory areas.

• Support cross-training and collaborate with other packaging team members.

• Follow MSDS guidelines for chemical handling and disposal.

• Identify and report unsafe conditions to the Packaging Supervisor.

• Participate in shift handoffs and communicate production status clearly.

• Contribute to process improvements and SOP updates.

• Perform general housekeeping duties (sweeping, mopping, cleaning).

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, assembly, warehouse, or distribution environments preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of units of measure).

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Clear verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Must meet state cannabis regulatory age requirements.
